Greenacres Surgery takes very seriously if a member of staff or one of the doctors or nursing team is treated in an abusive or violent way.
Our staff are trained and dedicated to serve you and you will be treated with courtesy and respect at all times. In return, we request that our doctors, staff and nursing team are treated with the same courtesy and respect.


We have a ZERO TOLERANCE approach to any verbal, aggressive and violent abuse and behaviour towards our doctors, staff and nursing team or other patients. We respectfully advise you that abuse and/or violence will not be tolerated. If required the Police will be called and removed immediately and removed from our patient list.

Greenacres Surgery is participating in the COVID 19 vaccination. with Pfizer and Astra Zeneca.

Please contact our friendly reception staff to book your appointment for COVID vaccination.

When attending for COVID vaccination, patients are required to bring proper identification such as Drivers license and Medicare card to confirm eligibility.

Eligibility criteria

Adults aged 60 years old and over can choose between the Pfizer and Astra Zeneca vaccine.

All individuals over the age of 12 are eligible to have the Pfizer vaccination.

Contraindication to vaccination

As COVID-19 vaccines are relatively novel, safety testing in all population groups has not yet been achieved.

Currently, the COVID-19 vaccines are not recommended for: 

  • People under 12 years old .  
  • People who have received any other vaccine in the last 14 days (including influenza). 
  • People who have allergies to any of the ingredients in the vaccines (polyethylene glycol (PEG), also known as macrogol and Polysorbate 80). 
  • People who are acutely unwell with a fever (≥38.5oC) or respiratory symptoms. 

Observation post vaccination

Anaphylaxis or severe allergy to a vaccine is a rare occurrence. This is the reason all vaccinated people must remain at the vaccination clinic for at least 15 minutes following administration.

Anybody with a known anaphylactic reaction to any substance (not just vaccination-related) must remain at the clinic for a minimum of 30 minutes after vaccination

Interval between doses

The AstraZeneca vaccine requires 2 doses and has a recommended interval of 12 weeks between doses

The Pfizer vaccine requires 2 doses and has a recommended interval of 3 weeks between doses.

Potential Side Effects

Common side-effects include:

  • Muscle pain. 
  • Chills and fever. 
  • Fatigue. 
  • Headache.
  • Pain, swelling and redness at the injection site.
  • Joint pain.
  • Nausea.

Most of the side effects are mild and last 1-2 days.

Paracetamol (Panadol) is advised after the vaccination for two doses accompanied by extra fluid intake.

Influenza vaccination is available now and we will be conducting dedicated flu vaccine clinics.

Due to the coronavirus, it is recommended that everyone should have the influenza vaccine

Influenza vaccination is free for children under the age of 5yo, pregnant women, patients with chronic medical diseases and for those over 65 years of age. All other patients will need a script to purchase their flu vaccine from the chemist.
